You want to use the PT hybrid as an electric pump but are not sure of a reliable power network. Then the automatic changeover system is a good solution. Developed by BBA Pumps, the system ensures that the diesel engine starts up as soon as the power fails. And, when the power supply is back, the pump automatically switches back to the electric motor.

The standard PT hybrid pump
A PT hybrid pump is equipped with both a diesel engine and an electric motor. The user can consider which drive is the best choice for each dewatering project. From an environmental and noise point of view, the electric drive wins. If there is no reliable power supply available, the diesel engine is the right choice for a dry construction pit.

Lockable control panel
The control components of the automatic changeover are built into a steel cabinet. This also includes the selector switch for activating hybrid mode.

Variable frequency drive
The electric motor is equipped with a variable speed drive. Its main function is to attenuate the starting current during start-up. The original star-delta switch will be removed.

LC20 dashboard
The pumpset is equipped with an LC20 dashboard for controlling the diesel engine. This allows the diesel engine to run continuously on manual control, or to start automatically as soon as the power fails. A time relay provides a short delay of about 20 seconds.

Battery charger
The built-in battery charger prevents the diesel engine battery from running low.
